Most people who won’t get well again, prefer to stay in their own surroundings. Sometimes this is not possible or desirable, because:
- Palliative care is needed in a way that can not be addressed to at home.
- Their home is not suitable for palliative care
- Care has become too complicated for caregivers
Hospice Kuria manages the (palliative) care and support; from medical care to meals.
We try our best to provide a homely feeling to our residents.
What does a stay look like?
Residents have an individual room and will receive there the (palliative) care and support they need.
24 hours a day and 7 days a week, care is available from a team of health care professionals and volunteers. We do our utmost for dignified end of life care, in which the wishes of the resident are leading: from the favorite newspaper at breakfast to a favorite meal at night.
Also making an appointment with (their own) hairdresser or pedicure can be done by us. The expenses however are for the resident. Bedding (sheets) and towels are available and will be laundered by us.
Modern rooms
Every resident has an individual room: spacious, modern and fully equipped. To make the room feel more like home, pictures and paintings can be placed.
A TV, wireless internet and if required a telephone, are available. Most of the rooms have a view at the lively Valeriusplein.
Family and significant others
Kuria is there for residents and their families and friends. We believe it is important that you are able to say ‘good bye’ in a way that is important to you.
- Visitors are welcome between 8.00 and 22.00 hours, always after consulting with the resident.
- Visitors are welcome to join giving care after consulting with both the resident and nurses.
- Visitors can join for meals against payment.
- When necessary and wished for, the possibility exists to stay the night at the residents room; a guestroom is also available.
